What do the proceeds of the race benefit? Great question! The Stone Bridge 1/2 Marathon and 5k benefits our LIVESTRONG at the YMCA program-a 12 week small group program to help Cancer Survivors reclaim their health. RUN STRONG to HELP OTHERS LIVESTRONG!
How do I make sure I get a t-shirt? Register by September 10, 2024 to guarantee yourself a t-shirt!
Where do I park? There are plenty of places to park on the street at/near Leland Park in Roscoe, IL. (Broad Street/3rd Street).
Awards? ALL 1/2 Marathon and 5k participants will receive a Finisher’s medal. There will be age group awards for both the 1/2 marathon and 5k in addition to an Overall Male and Female award for the 5k and 1/2 marathon. The top 3 in the following male and female age groups will receive an award: 10 and under, 11-19, 20-29, 30-39,40-49, 50-59,60-69 and 70 and above.
Can I wear headphones, bring my dog, or ride my bicycle? We understand that many runners need headphones to aid in their running concentration, or distraction. Headphones are allowed but not recommended for safety purposes. Although most of the course is on the trail, please use caution at the intersections. Dogs and bicycles are not allowed for safety reasons.
Will Gear Check be available? The race starts and ends where you car will be parked we ask that racers store their extra clothes in their vehicles.
Are walkers welcome? The course will be open until Noon–if you feel you will be able to finish the course within the time limit, you are more than welcome to register.
Is the race chip timed? Yes–you will have a chip in the form of a sticker on the back of you race number, please place it on the front of your shirt.
How many water stations are there? Please see the map–there will be one water station with water bottles for the 5k at the 5k Turn-around. There will 7 water stations with water for the 1/2 Marathon.
(1.5 miles, 2.5 miles, 5 miles, Turn-around, 8.5 miles, 10.6 miles and 11.6 miles)
Will there be first aid stations on the course? At each water station there will be ice packs, vaseline, and Band-aids.
Where are the restrooms located? There are restrooms located at Leland Park. There are also restroom available at mile 2.5, 5, 8.5 and 10.6–please note these are pit toilets located just off the path.
